ARCHIVIST NEWS
* This Month in ANS History April 1947: The Society makes
major administrative changes resulting in the establishment
of an expanded curatorial department.

* In 1947, Arthur Dewing was elected president of the ANS
and appointed various committees to study the Society's
staffing and financial and administrative structure. One
such committee -- the Committee on
Reorganization -- made recommendations which resulted in
the establishment of an expanded curatorial department,
with different curators focused on different sections. To
learn more about this important event, visit:
http://www.amnumsoc.org/archives/ANSMoment.htm

* Historical Additions to the ANS Website: biographies homepage
Since the start of the archival program in February 2004, we
have added to the ANS site biographical sketches of
numerous founders, curators, officers and other historical
figures. Now, all of these biographies can be easily
accessed through a new home page at:
http://www.amnumsoc.org/archives/biographies.html

LIBRARY LACUNAE : YOUR CHANCE TO CHANGE
HOLES INTO WHOLES
* Although most libraries strive to create collections that are
complete, it is virtually a given that there will always be
certain items, old or new, that are lacking on their shelves.
The ANS Library is no exception so, perhaps you can assist
in helping us find the listed items for our shelves. This
week's list contains two foreign journals that we would like to
complete. Thank you for helping.

"La Numismatica" (Monthly published in Brescia, Italy) - Vol.
18, no. 9 (Sept., 1987) and any issues for the period
1994 - to date.

"Muenzen Review" - 1984 to date.
